Radium: Catch Can Kit, PCV, EVO 4-6, Fluid Lock
The catch can draws out oil and water condensation from the crankcase gasses that would otherwise be drawn into the intake manifold. This prevents oil buildup in the intake, intercooler system walls, throttle body, and intake manifold. This effectively raises the octane, can increase engine performance from cleaner inlet air, and can lower hydrocarbon emissions. The closed system prevents unwanted oil vapors from entering into the cabin. Catch can kits include everything needed for a complete installation.
This kit installs next to the firewall and plumbs in-line between the PCV valve and the intake manifold. It maintains the OEM closed system operation of the PCV valve while keeping oil and other contaminants from entering the intake manifold. Note: Because the Radium catch cans are pressure sealed, they are safe for boosted applications, so connecting to the intake manifold is permitted without a check valve.
The rate that the catch can will collect oil and moisture contaminants will vary from one specific vehicle to the next, so there is no set emptying interval. Check the oil level of the catch can using the integrated dipstick starting at 3-4 weeks of driving and repeat as needed to determine how often it should be emptied.
Catch cans can be emptied by unscrewing the lower reservoir and removing it from the vehicle to dump out, or in cases where there is available space under the catch can, the Petcock Drain Kit can be installed and used to drain them.
